A sad boy's broken lunch box.

I'm having a problem with my son's lunch box. I bought it last year as an early Christmas gift, but he didnt start using it until he started school in August. One side of the handle keeps falling off. Is there any way to make sure it stays in there? We have put it back on several times and it just keeps coming off again. I'm sad that after a few months of kindergarten, his favorite lunchbox is already broken! I have one sad kindergartner!! Any suggestions would be great!
